[스포츠서울 | 원성윤 기자] 뉴진스가 민희진 어도어 전 대표 해임 사태에 직접 입을 열었다.

뉴진스 다니엘은 11일 유튜브 계정을 열고 “저희가 이런 대표님과 함께 하고 싶은 마음은 당연하다”며 영어로 말을 이어가기 시작했다. 글로벌 팬들을 의식한 대처였다.

다니엘은 “뉴진스로 데뷔하기 이전부터 민희진 대표와 지낸 모든 시간을 통해 우리 모두가 만들고 싶은 세상이 비슷하게 느꼈다. 우리 비전은 여러모로 비슷했다”(Even before debuting new genes and through all of the time that we spent together with Min Hee Jean Depyonim, all of us felt that the music we wanted to make and the kind of world we wanted to build together. Our vision was similar in so many ways.)고 말했다.

이어 다니엘은 “민희진 대표와 모든 작업을 진심 어린 마음으로 준비할 수 있었다. 그 진심이 작업에서 드러난 것 같다. 무언가에 진심을 다하는 것은 함께 일하는 사람들이 서로에 대한 신뢰와 같은 비전을 가지고 있기 때문에 가능한 일이라고 생각한다(With Min Hee Jean Depyonim, we were able to prepare each and every task with sincere hearts and I believe it shows in our work Putting our sincere effort into something is only possible because of the people that we‘re working with have trust in each other and have that same vision.)”고 덧붙였다.

다니엘은 “민희진 대표는 우리 음악을 만드는 사람일 뿐만 아니라 뉴진스를 만든 사람”이라며 “그녀는 우리와 아주 사소한 부분까지 논의하고 우리가 이해할 수 있는 방식으로 설명한다”(Min Hee Jean Depyonim is not only the person that produces our music, but someone who makes New genes who we are. She discusses even the smallest details with us and explains them in ways that we can understand clearly)고 말했다.

이어 다니엘은 “뉴진스는 분명한 컬러와 톤이 있다”며 “그건 민희진 대표와 함께 만들어낸 결과물이다. 그녀는 뉴진스 정체성에 없어서는 안 될 존재이며 우리 모두는 그녀를 대체할 수 없다고 생각한다”(New genes has a distinct color and tone and this was created with Min Hee Jean Depyonim. She is integral to New genes’s identity and we all feel that she is irreplaceable)고 명확하게 입장을 밝혔다.

어도어 이사회는 지난달 27일 민 전 어 대표를 해임하고, 김주영 사내이사를 신임 대표로 선임했다. 이 과정에서 뉴진스 ‘디토’ ‘ETA’ 뮤직비디오를 작업한 신우석 돌고래유괴단 대표 등과 갈등을 빚으며 논란이 격화되고 있다. socool@sportsseoul.com
